Bio:
Arnold Krog (1856–1931) was a Danish architect, artist and designer who became artistic director of the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory in 1885. He played a central role in renewing the manufactorys porcelain production, developing naturalistic forms and underglaze decoration. Midsummer Nights Dream was designed in 1899 with floral and insect motifs in a distinctive Art Nouveau idiom. The service was later reintroduced into production in the 1970s.
