Bio:
Grethe Meyer (1918–2008) was a Danish architect and designer and a significant figure in Danish industrial design. She graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture in 1947 and established her own studio in 1960. For Royal Copenhagen, she designed Blue Line, which entered production in 1965, followed by the Hvidpot and Ildpot tableware series. Her work was characterised by a systematic approach to function, simplicity and the rational use of everyday objects.
