Albert Bitran was a French painter, graphic artist and sculptor, born in Istanbul and based in Paris from 1948. He abandoned his studies in architecture to devote himself to art and held his first solo exhibition in Paris in 1951. He is extensively represented in international museums, including the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris and the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen
