Bio:
Michael Bang (1944–2013) was a Danish designer and the son of glass designer Jacob E. Bang. He trained in ceramics and modelling with, among others, Bjørn Wiinblad and the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory, before gaining experience in glassmaking at Ekenäs Glassworks in Sweden. In 1968, he joined Kastrup-Holmegaard Glassworks, where he designed both functional and artistic glass. His work ranged from the Palet series and lighting designs to more sculptural and experimental unique pieces, establishing him as a significant figure in Danish glass design during the second half of the 20th century.
