Richard Uhlemeyer, large floor vase.Large ceramic floor vase with a substantial rounded body and short neck with a pronounced flared rim. The surface features a lively mottled glaze in creamy white, brown, pink and muted violet tones. The model is executed on a monumental scale and is marked.

Bio:
Richard Uhlemeyer (1900–1954) was a German ceramicist and craftsman who operated his own pottery workshop in Osnabrück. His work is known for its accomplished craftsmanship, distinctive forms and varied glazes. Uhlemeyer’s ceramics from the 1940s and early 1950s represent the German studio pottery tradition of the post-war period and are sought after by collectors today.
