Bio:
Rosenthal was founded by Philipp Rosenthal in Selb, Bavaria, in 1879 and developed into one of Germany’s leading porcelain manufacturers. The factory became particularly renowned for its collaborations with artists and sculptors and for its extensive production of decorative porcelain figures. During the 1920s and 30s, its range included numerous stylised animal figures in which the white porcelain surface emphasised the sculptural form. Rosenthal continued to use its characteristic crown mark throughout the 1930s.
