Bio:
Elah Gottlieb (1913–2005) was a German artist born in Berlin. After emigrating from Germany during the 1930s, she lived in France and Amsterdam, where she received artistic training under the Dutch painter Jos Rovers. She later lived in Israel before returning to Germany in the 1950s and establishing a studio in Konstanz. Her subjects included still lifes, flowers, landscapes and portraits, often distinguished by assured and nuanced use of colour. Gottlieb exhibited both in Germany and internationally.
