Decorative vase, model 2196, executed in Disko metal and featuring the characteristic fluted Art Deco decoration with a beautiful, deep patinated surface. Marked on the underside and bearing a previous owner's inscription.

Biography:
Just Andersen (1884–1943) was a distinguished Danish sculptor, designer, and silversmith, widely regarded as one of the foremost figures in twentieth-century Danish decorative arts. In 1918, he established his own workshop in Copenhagen, where he developed the patented alloy known as Disko metal, a material that became synonymous with his artistic production and was employed in an extensive range of sculptural and decorative objects. His work is characterized by the refined geometry and elegant restraint of the Art Deco movement, combining sculptural form with exceptional craftsmanship. Today, Andersen's designs are considered among the most significant achievements of Danish decorative art from the first half of the twentieth century and are highly sought after by collectors and museums alike.
