Collection comprising a lidded porcelain box and two small porcelain dishes with hand-painted cobalt-blue decoration in the classic Blue Onion pattern. Marked with the Meissen crossed swords. First quality, while one dish is cancelled with two incised lines.

Origin: Germany.

Bio:
The Meissen Porcelain Manufactory was founded in 1710 and is regarded as Europes first producer of hard-paste porcelain. The famous Blue Onion pattern was introduced around 1739 and is characterised by its cobalt-blue underglaze decoration featuring stylised flowers and fruit motifs inspired by East Asian porcelain. The pattern became one of the manufactorys most iconic and enduring designs.
