Tapio Wirkkala for Rosenthal, set of six egg cups.Set of six white porcelain egg cups in two different models, designed by Tapio Wirkkala in 1962 and produced by Rosenthal. The set consists of two low, elongated egg cups and four classically shaped egg cups. All pieces are marked.

Bio:
Tapio Wirkkala (1915–1985) was one of Finland’s most significant designers, working across glass, porcelain, metal, wood and graphic design. He began a long-standing collaboration with Rosenthal in the 1950s and created a number of distinctive porcelain designs for the company. His work was characterised by functionalism, sculptural qualities and inspiration from the organic forms of nature.
