Bio:
Per Kirkeby (1938–2018) was one of Denmarks most influential post-war artists, internationally acclaimed as a painter, printmaker, sculptor, writer, and filmmaker. Trained as a geologist at the University of Copenhagen, he developed a distinctive visual language rooted in geological formations, layered structures, and organic forms. A leading figure of European Neo-Expressionism, he exhibited repeatedly at both Documenta in Kassel and the Venice Biennale. His graphic works form an important part of his artistic legacy and are represented in major museum collections worldwide.
