Elegant stoneware pitcher from the Collier series featuring a ribbed decoration and blue glaze. The model has a tall slender neck, a graceful handle and a form characteristic of Gunnar Nylunds work for Rörstrand during the post-war period.

Bio:
Johan Gunnar Nylund (1904–1997) was a Finnish-Swedish ceramic artist, sculptor and designer. He served as artistic director of Rörstrand from 1931 to 1955 and developed some of the factory’s most celebrated stoneware series. Nylund is particularly admired for his refined forms, sophisticated glazes and his major contribution to the development of modern Scandinavian ceramics.
