Soma Cube puzzle in rosewood with provenance from Architect Mogens Lassen
Description:
Piet Hein Soma Cube. Puzzle in rosewood. This copy belonged to architect Mogens Lassen and was acquired from his daughter-in-law. It can be seen that the base is different compared to the regular versions.Invented by the Danish polymath Piet Hein in 1933 during a lecture on quantum mechanics by Werner Heisenberg. Construction: The puzzle consists of seven irregular pieces made of smaller unit cubes. They can be assembled into a total cube of 3×3×3 in over 240 different ways.
The base measures 9.5 x 9.5 cm. and the puzzle measures 8.0 x 8.0 cm.
Excellent condition with some signs of a little wear.
