Biography:
Albert Petersen (1875–1957) was a Danish painter educated at the Technical School (1894–95) and subsequently at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (1895–1902), where he studied under Sophus Vermehren and Otto Bache.
He was influenced by the academic tradition and worked primarily in a naturalistic style, with a focus on draftsmanship, composition, and faithful representation of his subjects. Petersen belongs to the generation of Danish painters around the year 1900 who continued classical artistic ideals during a time of emerging modernism.
