Bio:
Georges Joubin (1888–1983) was a French painter associated with the Montmartre artistic milieu in Paris. He studied at the Académie Julian and the École des Beaux-Arts and exhibited at major Parisian salons including the Indépendants and the Nationale des Beaux-Arts. In 1929, he was involved in the formation of the short-lived School of Montmartre. His work often focused on scenes from Paris, particularly Montmartre, and is characterized by strong colour contrasts, a direct and somewhat rustic execution, and clearly structured compositions.
