Elegant and atmospheric composition featuring two figures within an architectural setting, executed in Icart’s characteristic Art Deco style with refined linework and soft tonal transitions. Signed in pencil and numbered 70. Dated 1928.

Bio:
Louis Icart (1888–1950) was a French painter, graphic artist, and illustrator, born in Toulouse and later active in Paris. He became widely recognized during the Art Deco period for his elegant and often sensual depictions of women, primarily produced as etchings using aquatint and drypoint techniques. Icart also worked with fashion houses and illustrated books, achieving significant success in both Europe and the United States during the 1920s and 1930s.
