Small vase and matching dish in stoneware with simple forms and characteristic glazes in green and blue tones. A fine example of Hammershøi’s refined design language and experimental glaze work from the 1930s. Marked on the base.

Bio:
Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was a Danish ceramicist and sculptor, known for his work at Kähler in Næstved. He was a central figure in the development of Danish art pottery and is particularly recognised for his simple, monumental forms and refined glazes, which have had a lasting influence on Danish ceramic tradition.
