Bio:
The Cobra movement was an international avant-garde group founded in 1948 by artists from Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam. Its members embraced spontaneity, strong colour and an expressive, almost childlike visual language inspired by folk art, primitive imagery and experimental modernism. The movement played an important role in post-war European art and strongly influenced later generations of expressionist painters.
