Bio:
Henry d’Anty (1910–1998), born Maurice Henry in Belleville, Paris, was a French painter who studied at the Académie Julian and developed strong ties with artists of the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. His work is known for its vibrant colour palette dominated by ruby reds, ochres and blues, combined with heavy impasto that gives the surface a luminous enamel-like effect. D’Anty painted rural scenes, festive subjects and still lifes inspired by regions such as Brittany, Béarn and northern France. He exhibited widely in Europe and North America, and his works are held in museum collections including the Musée Toulouse-Lautrec in Albi, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, and museums in Barcelona and Warsaw.
