Bio:
Gunnar Fohlin (1924–1998) was a Swedish painter, printmaker and craftsman. He worked with both figurative and abstract expressions and employed a variety of media including drawing, watercolour, gouache and graphic techniques. Many of his works combine spontaneous brushwork with a strong sense of colour and an experimental approach to composition and materials. Fohlin exhibited regularly in Sweden over several decades and formed part of the broader modernist development in Scandinavian art during the second half of the twentieth century.
