Bio:
Evald Nielsen (1879–1958) was a Danish silversmith and a central figure in Danish silver design during the first half of the twentieth century. He founded his workshop in Copenhagen in 1905 and became known for elegant cutlery patterns and silver hollowware. During the interwar period his designs evolved toward a more restrained decorative language incorporating both classical and Art Deco influences. Evald Nielsen’s works are today highly sought after by collectors of Danish silver.
