Bio:
Ilse Claesson was a key figure in Rörstrand’s artistic development during the 1920s and 30s and one of the most significant female designers in Swedish ceramics of the period. Her work is characterised by confident forms, refined colour gradations, and decorative schemes that unite Art Deco aesthetics with a distinctly Nordic sensibility. The “Löja” series is considered among her most desirable designs and reflects Rörstrand’s high artistic standards in the interwar years.
