Gunnar Nylund was one of the most influential Scandinavian ceramic artists of the 20th century. Following his work at Rörstrand, he continued his career in Denmark at Nymølle, where he developed a more restrained and organic design language characterized by nature-inspired glazes. His Nymølle pieces are noted for their tactile surfaces and nuanced coloration and are highly regarded by collectors today.
