Beautiful ceramic pitchers designed by Ingrid Atterberg and Mari Simmulson for Upsala Ekeby. Both decorated in pastel tones with incised patterns and hand-painted glaze. The two pieces exemplify the distinctive style and refined colour sensibility characteristic of Swedish ceramics from the 1960s.
Origin: Sweden.

Bio:
Ingrid Atterberg (1911–2008) and Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) were among the most influential designers at Upsala Ekeby during the mid-20th century. Both artists were known for their modern forms, experimental decorations and bold colour combinations, which helped establish Upsala Ekeby as a leading name in Scandinavian design ceramics during the postwar era.
