Erik Hoppe was a key figure in early Danish modernism and a member of the “Corner” circle. He is especially known for his lyrical depictions of Frederiksberg Gardens and Søndermarken, characterised by a subtle, atmospheric colour palette and a refined sensitivity to light and mood.
