Wheel-thrown stoneware bowl with an organic form and richly textured glaze in muted green and brown tones, characteristic of Simmulson’s expressive design language of the period.

Bio:
Mari Simmulson (born 1911 in Estonia, died 2000 in Sweden) began her career as a ceramics teacher and became one of the leading designers at Upsala-Ekeby from the 1940s onward. Her work is known for sculptural forms, expressive color palettes and experimental glazing — establishing her as a key figure in 20th-century Swedish studio ceramics.
