Bio:
Ipsens Enke (founded 1843 by potter Louise Ipsen in Copenhagen) became one of Denmark’s most significant stoneware manufacturers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The factory produced both classicist vases inspired by antiquity and decorative utilitarian wares reflecting naturalistic and stylized trends of the time. In the 1920s and 1930s, colored glazes and organic forms were especially popular, making Ipsens Enke an important contributor to Danish ceramic tradition.
