Description:
Gunnar Fohlin, Sweden.Oil on cardboard, 1979.
A horizontally composed work, where bands of blue and green run parallel, evoking the horizon lines of a landscape. The carefully balanced tones and strongly textured surface give the painting a sensory presence, while its geometric structure retains a distinctly modernist rigor. The piece exemplifies Fohlin’s ability to transform the rhythms of nature into tightly controlled yet lyrical color fields.
