The history of Kähler dates back to 1839, when Herman J. Kähler founded a small pottery workshop in Næstved. His son, Herman A. Kähler, took over the company in 1875 and developed it into one of Denmark’s most renowned ceramic factories. Kähler became famous for its colourful glazes – including the distinctive uranium glaze – artistic collaborations, and high craftsmanship, with many of its works now sought after by collectors.
