The Meissen porcelain manufactory, founded in 1710 in Germany, was the first European factory to successfully produce true hard-paste porcelain. Established under the patronage of Elector Augustus the Strong, Meissen quickly gained a reputation for its high quality and artistic craftsmanship. It became famous for its intricate figurines, elegant tableware, and iconic patterns such as the Blue Onion ("Zwiebelmuster"). Meissen has had a profound influence on European porcelain tradition and remains active to this day.
