The Huguenot Girl
The Huguenot Girl #12461 20 cm Inspiration for this figure is said to have come to Arno Malinowski from the legend of a young girl in the 16th century war in France between the Protestants (Huguenots) and Catholics. She tried to help the persecuted and the poor and, at the risk of her own safety and against her father’s wishes, she gathered crumbs from his table and took them to the nearby village. One day she was caught and asked what she had in the folds of her dress, she knelt to confess her deed, only to find that the bread had turned into flowers.
