Xanadu is designed by Arje Griegst for Holmegaard. The glass fits the Konkylie dinnerware, which Arje Griegst drew for Royal Copenhagen.

The glass is made by a 5-piece process, which has made it an extremely expensive glass to manufacture. The glass is with an optical twist as the only decoration, achieved by blowing the glass in a metal form and then applying the stem and twisting the optics inside the glass, itself, ending with the cutting glass from the glass pipe and heat the rim to make it soft and lip-like.

The glass was produced from 1982 and is entirely taken out of production in 2002.
