Description:

Diameter 20 cm.
Italian plate from the middle of the 19th century, decorated with gold and motif in overglaze.

The plate is decorated with a flour seller in the marketplace surrounded by other merchants and costumers. The motif is seen from an etching made by Nicola Vianelli in the years 1836-1843. Several museums have this etching in their collections, including the British Museum.
The fane is decorated with gold, in which there are polished flower petals.

The quality of the painting is extremely high - it is rare we have seen this quality.
It is signed on the back "Banditore de Farina" as well as a few pressed numbers.

The plate originates from a private Danish collection of 1700s and 1800s porcelain.

Tha plate have some wear on the gold.
