Figure of Aesculapius in stoneware from Saxbo factory in Denmark around 1955. Designed by Olaf Stæhr-Nielsen (1896-1969). Prepared as gift item from Copenhagen Medical Association, as is shown by the marking at the bottom. It is not known how many figures produced. Covered by a green "hare-fur" glaze. The shape represents simultaneously the head of a snake. Factory mark on the bottom, model number and artist signature O. St.N. also FRA KØBENHAVNS LÆGEFORENING (FROM COPENHAGEN Medical Association). The figure has a pair of small chips on the bottom. 22 cm high.
