The rounded, almost spherical body features two horizontal side handles and a distinctive lid that completes its geometric design. Biography
Timo Sarpaneva (1926–2006) was a Finnish designer and artist, regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern Finnish design. He worked with glass, metal, ceramics and textiles and was particularly renowned for his collaboration with Iittala. His design language was characterised by sculptural forms, technical innovation and a close relationship between art and function.
Sarpaneva received numerous international awards, including several distinctions at the Milan Triennale. His works are represented in important museum collections and design collections around the world.
