Kähler Ceramics was founded in Næstved, Denmark, in 1839 by potter Herman J. Kähler (1808–1884). The company was later continued by his son Herman A. Kähler (1846–1917), under whose direction the workshop developed into a prominent Danish art pottery. Across generations, Kähler collaborated with numerous artists and ceramicists and became known for handcrafted works distinguished by characteristic glazes and individual decoration. The HAK mark refers to Herman A. Kähler.
