Handwoven rya carpet in pure wool with a dense, long pile and a geometric pattern in pale blue, grey, brown and orange tones. The composition is formed by horizontal stripes and rectangular fields with varying pile, creating a distinctly textured surface.

Bio:
Rya is a traditional Nordic weaving technique in which long wool knots are tied onto a woven foundation, creating a dense and tactile surface. In Sweden, the technique was further developed throughout the 20th century and became prominent in textile art and interior design. During the 1960s and 70s, rya textiles were often produced in pure wool with geometric patterns, varied pile heights and carefully balanced colour combinations.
