Bio:
The Meissen Porcelain Manufactory was founded in Saxony in 1710 as Europe’s first porcelain manufactory. The celebrated Blue Onion pattern was developed from 1731, inspired by East Asian decoration and executed in cobalt-blue underglaze. Its motifs include peaches, melons, bamboo and chrysanthemums. The crossed swords have been Meissen’s distinctive trademark since 1722.
