Abstract composition executed in oil on board with expressive brushwork and striking colour contrasts. The composition is dominated by a deep blue field, punctuated by lighter blue, white and pink passages together with a vivid multicoloured form in the foreground. Signed. Provenance: artists studio.

Bio:
Lars Bertil Bertle (1925–2026) was a Swedish modernist painter from Helsingborg. Largely self-taught, he did not devote himself to painting full-time until the late 1960s. His work is distinguished by vivid colour and an expressive approach, ranging from southern Swedish landscapes, still lifes and figures to strongly abstracted compositions. Bertle is represented in the collection of Helsingborg Museum, which includes, among other works, an abstract oil painting from his Aniara series.
