Sculptural ceramic female figure featuring Bjørn Wiinblad’s characteristic facial features, tall headdress and elaborately detailed costume. The figure is hand-decorated in blue and white tones with rich ornamental detailing and executed as a unique studio work from Det Blå Hus.

Bio:
Bjørn Wiinblad (1918–2006) was a Danish artist, ceramicist, illustrator and stage designer known for his distinctive decorative and imaginative style. Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, he worked throughout his career with ceramics, graphic art, textiles and stage design. His work is particularly recognised for stylised human figures, intricate patterns and rich ornamentation. Det Blå Hus in Kongens Lyngby was Wiinblad’s home and workplace and housed his own ceramics studio.
