Bio:
Gunnar Nylund (1904–1996) was a Danish-Finnish-Swedish ceramicist, sculptor and glass artist born in Paris. After working at Bing & Grøndahl, he established the workshop that later became Saxbo together with Nathalie Krebs. From the early 1930s, he served as artistic director at Rörstrand, where he played an important role in the development of modern Swedish stoneware. He became particularly renowned for his elegant organic forms, matte glazes and refined surfaces and is regarded as a central figure in 20th-century Scandinavian ceramics.
