Large sculptural figure in Disko metal with a stylised marine motif featuring a fish, seahorse and boy figure. Model D 2166. Signed and displaying an excellent natural patina.

Bio:
Just Andersen (1884–1943) was a Danish hollowware artist, silversmith and sculptor, born in Godhavn on Disko Island in Greenland. He founded his company in 1918 and created an extensive range of decorative arts. His proprietary alloy, Disko metal, was named after Disko Bay and became one of his most characteristic materials. Andersens works frequently combine sculptural and figurative motifs with functional Danish craftsmanship.
