Bio:
Holger Dall (1903–1986) was a Danish painter educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under Sigurd Wandel and Kræsten Iversen. His early works focused on figurative compositions and landscapes from Jutland, while biblical subjects later became central to his artistic production. Dall's paintings are recognised for their expressive style, bold brushwork, and vibrant use of colour, where paint itself becomes an essential expressive element. In his later career, his compositions became more structured and occasionally approached abstraction, reflecting his extensive work with stained glass mosaics. He completed numerous public commissions and is regarded as an important figure in 20th-century Danish Expressionism.
