Bengt Johansson was a Swedish visual artist associated with the post-war Nordic modernist movement. His work often explored abstract visual language, with a strong emphasis on colour, rhythm, and composition. During the 1960s and 1970s, many Swedish artists embraced a freer and more spontaneous approach to painting, drawing inspiration from concrete art, Art Informel, and international abstract expressionism. Works from this period have gained increasing recognition among collectors of Nordic modernist art.
