Hand-painted porcelain vase with pierced cover intended for potpourri or incense, decorated with naturalistic floral bouquets in polychrome enamels and gilded details. Executed in an elegant baluster shape with a knop finial and scrolling side handles. Museum-quality example from Royal Copenhagen’s early mid-19th century production.

Bio:
Royal Copenhagen was founded in 1775 under the patronage of Queen Dowager Juliane Marie and quickly became one of Europe’s most distinguished porcelain manufactories. The company became internationally renowned for its hand-painted porcelain of exceptional artistic quality, often executed by highly specialised porcelain painters. During the 19th century, Royal Copenhagen produced luxurious decorative objects and ornamental wares for the European aristocracy and affluent bourgeoisie, making early examples highly sought after today by collectors and museums.
