Biography:
Wilhelm Kralik & Sohn was a Bohemian glass factory founded in 1881 following the division of the earlier company Meyr’s Neffe. The business was continued by members of the Kralik family, who already had a strong tradition in glass production in the region. The factory was located in Eleonorenhain (now Lenora in the Czech Republic) and quickly became known for its high quality and artistic approach to glassmaking.
Around 1900, Wilhelm Kralik & Sohn gained particular recognition for its decorative Art Nouveau glass. The company produced iridescent glass, richly colored surfaces, and complex patterns, making its works popular both at the time and among modern collectors.
The company continued operating into the 20th century but was nationalized after World War II in what was then Czechoslovakia. Production changed under state control, and the factory ultimately ceased to exist in 1995.
