Bio:
Cissi Svärdström (born 1949 in Stockholm) is a Swedish visual artist working with painting, graphics, and sculpture. She studied at Hovedskou School of Art in Gothenburg, Gerlesborg School in Stockholm, the School of Industrial Arts in Gothenburg, and Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. She also pursued private studies in traditional ink painting in Kyoto, Japan, under the artist Hitoshi Kumatu. Svärdström’s work is characterised by expressive brushwork and simplified forms, often creating atmospheric compositions where gesture and rhythm play a central visual role.
