Bio:
Mason’s traces back to the potter Charles James Mason (1791–1856), who founded the company in Staffordshire in the early 19th century and became known for ironstone production and later transferware-decorated faience. Palissy was active in the first half of the 20th century, producing decorative faience with English landscape and historical scenes. Together, they represent the strong English faience tradition of red transferware popular during the interwar period.
