Bio:
Tom Christian Krøjer Olsen (1942–2015) was a Danish visual artist, educated at the Experimental School of Art in Copenhagen and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (1967). He debuted at the Artists’ Autumn Exhibition in 1962 and during the 1960s experimented with video, telecommunications, film, and happenings in collaboration with Jens Jørgen Thorsen at Drakabygget in Sweden. He was affiliated with the Danish Eks-Skole and the international Bauhaus Situationist movement. Influenced by Fluxus and American Pop Art, his works are characterized by strong colors, flatness, and a playful, imaginative formal language. In 1971, he received a three-year grant from the Danish Arts Foundation, and in 1983 he became a member of the artists’ association Grønningen.
