Bio:
Juan Cano is a melting pot of European, South American, and African cultures in his art, merging desire with repulsion, religion with atheism, dark prison spaces with open air, death with life.
He originates from Montevideo, Uruguay, but has the entire world as his field of work.
Cano was educated at the art academies in Montevideo and Genoa, and in the 1980s he lived in Italy.
In his works he often uses mixed techniques — acrylic, watercolor, photography, and graphic art — to achieve the desired effect.
His driving force is to tell stories about humanity — regardless of nationality or continental affiliation.
